*うちがたまたまゲットしたヘヴィ・メタルのオムニバス盤を下にその謎を解明して行こうちゅう無茶苦茶な企画、
「ヘビメタとは何だ」
その２です。
３回目ですけど考えて見たら盤は２枚目なんで、その２だな。今回のネタは

ヘヴィ・メタル・エクスプロージョン

とゆう１９８２年にビクターから出たコンピＬＰ。どうやら日本編集らしく、ＣＤ化なぞ毛頭無いみたい。しかし収録のバンドは出てるかもしれぬ。さてはて。まずはジャケ。完璧です。これがヘビメタ・ルックとゆうものか。革ジャン＆Ｔシャツ。何でなんだろの鋲もありますねえ。弾丸付ベルトも装備です。服装には収録バンドの名前が入ってるとゆう。問題なのは左腕に刺青。「ホワイト・スピリット」。いいのかー。一
生もんだぞ。親から貰った体を傷つけてはＯＫです。裏面にはちゃんと各バンドの写真が。オビは無かったけど解説は残ってたので嬉しいよう。問題はその解説を書いておりますのが・・・・伊藤正則氏では無いぞー。すでにその時点でハグレ・メタルか。藤内由美子さんとゆう方が書いております。ＭＣＡレーベル傘下のレーベルからのピックアップで、選曲も藤内氏が行った模様。冒頭からＭＣＡには「この手のものは少ない方だといえるだろうが、折からのブームも手伝ってか・・」と事情暴露してる。

Ａ１．バック・オン・ザ・ストリーツ/ゲイリー・ムーア

・・・堂々と胸を張って収録できます。盤の目玉のメタル突貫小僧ムーアさん。それがＭＣＡには１枚しかアルバム残して無いそうで、その表題曲。
しかもそのアルバムは未ＣＤ化みたいじゃ。ぐお。ベスト盤のタイトルになってるのに。そこでこの曲は聴けます。１曲目に相応しき疾走ロックン・メタル。指がぐにょんぐにょん、てろろろてろろろって見えた。すげー。キメがパープルだ。歌はご自身かな。はっきりわからないのが情けな。歌だって上手いすよね。

Ａ６．ハリケーン/ゲーリー・ムーア

・・・６曲目に再び登場ですムーアさん。これがびつくり。インストなんすけど、メタルともうしますか、こりゃクロスオーバーだ。フュージョンじゃないよ。夜のムードアップに絶対向かない戦闘モノ。確実にジェフ・ベックさんのワイアード意識してるのかと。ギター・スタイルは何ら変わらず。ゴリゴリゴリゴリ。柔でトンガリのベック氏に比べて剛で直球のムーア氏。カミナリオヤジにカミナリ落とされているみたいでとてーも楽しいや。

Ｂ６．皮肉な奴になりたいのか/ゲイリームーア

・・・アルバム・ラストを締めるのもエースで４番のゲイリー氏。これはさらにびっくり。もっとワイアードです。ブルー・ウインドとか。モロだん。てことはファンクも入ってる。ファンクの食いビートはメタル・リフの重要なとこだと確信いたしますが、そのスタイルは犬猿の仲だもんな。しかもベースはチョッパーばしばし。メタルでチョッパーやったらしばかれるぞ。これはアイリッシュ魂フュージョン・メタルってジャンルなんでしょうか。痛快です。とにかくかっこよし。アルバム見つけたら問答無用に買いだな。

Ａ２．デッド・レコニング/ダイアモンド・ヘッド

・・・えー、フィル・マンザネラ氏でもヴェンチャーズでも、競馬馬でも無くて英国のメタルバンドです。７６年結成。レコードはこの時丁度出立てほやほや、４曲入りＥＰの中からの曲だそうです。現在も頑張って活動中、堂々たるベストにこれも収録だ。たしかメタリカが大ファンだったかと。大カバー大会盤ガレージ・インクの中で彼らの曲やってた。聴きますとそりゃ納得。元祖メタリカだー。音がちょっと悪いのがまた良くて。鳥肌が立つほどこれがロックだを味合わせてくれます。終わると気が付く。ギターソロが無い。これはちょっと革新じゃないかい。様式美を壊した様式美だ。こうなるとシンパシーはキリング・ジョークです。

Ａ３．ユール・ネバー・ゲット・ミー・アップ/フィスト

・・・バンド名が「拳」。やられたって思ったメタル野郎多かったんじゃなかろうか。７７年にアクスってバンド名で始めるもパンクの荒波に飲まれて活動不調。重なるメンバー・チェンジ、解散を８０年に最初のシングルを出したとのこと。この曲がそれです。オリジナル・アルバムはことごとく入手難なれど、これもちゃんと入ってる毅然としたベスト盤ＣＤ有り。

ダボーバス・ドラムが冒頭からぼすぼすぼす、ファイアボールだーーーの高速メタルだ。しかしデスとは違うデス。７０’ｓに始めたバンドは、やっぱ頭に「ハード・ロック」が付くメタルなんだよな。
はっきり申してＢ級の味。これが何と美味しいことよ。

その謎オムニＬＰとは

ヘヴィ・メタル・エクスプロージョン

発売元は日本のビクターです。0-0metal-vic.jpg肝心なことに気が付いた。ヘビー・メタルじゃなくて、ヘヴィ・メタルなんだ。やっぱし(^0^)。これは反省して山寺で座禅を組まねばならぬわ。ヘッドバキンしながら。それは後日、億万長者になった時にするとしてさて残りの半分の曲を下にヘビメタの解明に挑戦。

Ａ面４曲目に登場は
スタンド・アップ＆ファイト/クオーツ。

・・・クオーツって思わず手元の時計を見てしまいました。チクタク・サウンドを得意にしてます。では無くて、この曲を聴く限り真正面からのメタル・ハード。「立ち上がって、ケンカしやがれ」だもんね。結成は７４年英国はバーミンガムで。同郷サバスのちょっと後輩だ。私立バーミン高校ヘヴィメタ部でしごかれて、やれスクリームが甘い、ギターのお前は指立て伏せ１００回とか言われたのかな。デビューは７７年。一番メタラーにとって辛い時期かも。それでやっぱし活動は難局を極めの。この曲は３枚目のアルバムのタイトル曲です。プロデュースは１ｓｔはトニー・アイオミ先輩がやってくれたそうだけど、これは誰かな。メタルの基本はリフだーのサバスのスピード１．５倍増しのサウンドであります。間奏はツウィン・リード。曲もキャッチー。しかしどっか詰め甘し。そこがかわゆい。ラストはフェイド・アウトつうメタルの禁じてをしてしまいおった。メタルはバシっと決めねばならぬのでは無いか。これは多分、はいスタジオの時間はこれで終わりと追い出された結果かと想像したりして。やたらとデビューさせては後のケア全く無しのレーベル、ジェットから登場したから、さぞかし現在は闇に葬られておるかと思たら、この盤、ボートラ付でちゃんとＣＤ化されており、

Ａ．５　ランイング・アウト・オブ・タイム/タイガース・オブ・パンタン

・・・このアルバム中、ゲイリーさんと並んで３番でエース格登場です。ぱんたん。メタルとは何だ１回目のオムニ「メタルお宝」にも入ってました。人気あるのかー。中古アナログでも８００円クラスだぞ。手を出すのにちょっと躊躇しちゃうぞ。何しろあの細工師ジョン・サイクス氏がいたもんな。８０年に「ワイルド・キャット」でデビュー。８０年ならＮＷＯＢＨＭ渦中でバッチリ。でもライナー中では、「アイアン・メイデン、サクソンなどの勢いに押され日の目を見ることが出来なかった」とか書いてある。そんなー。この曲は３枚目の「クレージー・ナイト」から。

２ビート接近高速メタル。録音がしょぼくってドラムがマシーンみたいな音。予算出してやれよー。にもかかわらず細工師は精微で豪快なあのソロをご披露。いえいっと拍手拍手。なんつたってシン・リジーの最後のギタリストだかんね。応援します。ギターが好きで好きで弾かずにはいられないつう。

Ｂ．１　ブラック・ジャック/タイガース・オブ・パンタン

・・・Ｂ面１曲目もパンタン。ぱんたんって意味何なんだろ。まだわかりません。タレパンタン以上は。これは２ｎｄの「スペルバウンド」から。バンシーズのじゃなひ。ブラック・ジャック、共作はピノコじゃなひ0-0metalpantanpinoko3.jpg。３連シャッフル高速です。３連シャッフルといやあ思い出すのは、やっぱりシン・リジー。ばっちりはまってメタル化させちゃったのには訳があったのだな。パンタンは４枚目までＭＣＡでアルバム出すつう生え抜きさん。大事にせいよと言いたいけどＣＤは入手難みたいで中古がえらい値段だ。なんと。ベストはこちらです。

Ｂ．２　ザ・バンプ/フィスト
・・・昨日最後にご紹介させてもろた拳バンドさん。これも最初期シングルからの曲だそう。たまらん。ずじゃずじゃー、ずんずんずんってこのビート。ああ、聴いてもらいてえ。これやられると問答無用にＫＯです。そうだ試聴できたんだ。ベストのディスク２の３曲目です。ほらたまらんでしょう。似た曲が思い出せないのが情けないすが。

Ｂ．３　オン・ザ・ラン/ポイント・ブランク

・・・このアルバム中最も問題作登場。だってラテンなんです。ラテン・メタル(^0^)。しかも完全にスティーリー・ダンの「ドゥ・イット・アゲイン」のパクリ。キメとかギターのあの感じとか、もうまんま。同じＭＣＡだからかよう。で、都会派サウンドになってるかといやあそれが違う。歌は完全にメタル・マナー。ギターソロも音色はメタル。段々サンタナ化していったりして。アルバム「ハード・ウエイ」から。

テキサス出身だそうです。そのアルバムでは「ハイウエイ・スター」のカバーやってるらしい。相撲取りみたいなベーシストがいるサザン・ロッカーだったりして。サザンな風貌で資質はメタラー、好きなのはスティーリー・ダン。ああ、眩暈がするほどステキ。粘りと根性なら世界一の南部野郎ども、今でも活動してるみたい。
しかしこの盤は２０００年にＣＤ化されたものの、廃盤みたいなんでせめて必殺ＡＭＧさんでご試聴をば。ベストも無いのだ。

Ｂ．４　セイブ・アワ・ラブ/アクス

・・・ＡＸＥと書いてアクスと読む。あー臭せー・・では無い。何とフロリダ出身アメリカン。最もメタルから遠い地だ。７９年にデビュー。この曲は２ｎｄの「リビング・オン・ザ・エッジ」から。どっかで聞いたことがある題名。ははは。可哀そうにＣＤ化さえされてません。ひでーやＭＣＡ。曲はもう、これが哀愁メタルだーーーっってシャウトの哀愁曲。でも最初のリフが「迷子の迷子の子猫さんあなたのおうちはどこですか」のフレーズなんで腰が抜けます。爽快に。最後はホラー・ムードたっぷしで終わる。これぞＢ級の味わいだぜ。ベスト盤なら

猛烈なパープル・ファンが作ったつうこのバンド。ギターさんなんかもろリッチーさんフレーズ。
これだーーーーーーー。
フェイバリットです。ちょっと録音悪くくぐもった音質で奏でられる燃える胸掻き毟りロック。昭和地下ゴーゴークラブだ。
元々わたしゃ、メタル（って言っていいのか）で一番好きな曲は、スティッフ・レーベルから出たコンピ「バンチ・オブ・スティッフズ」

完全にＢ級の味わい。
Ａ級Ｂ級とか、ハナから区分けするのは嫌いだー。バンド自身は元々Ｂ級であろうとなんて毛頭思って無いだろし。失礼だもんな。
でも確かにＢ級の味わいってやつぁああります。世間で言うモノサシだけどよ。フランス料理フルコースとインスタント・ラーメンみたいなもんで。どちらも力の限り作っているのだ。そして値段、格に関わらずどっちも食べたくなる。（食べたくなっても喰えんけど仏料理）。ＢのものでＡ級な音楽。ＡなのにＣなんてーものもあるぞ。ＢのＡはこれはもう、そんなフォアグラなんかクソ喰らえのものでござる。
ロックは元々、世間様ではＢの存在じゃけん、その中でＡの野郎どもの音楽こそがど真ん中であります。
こんな音楽を探して毎週毎週レコード棚でぱたぱためくってるような気がする。
ＣＤが出ています。そうでなきゃいかん。
